About Sevenoaks Environmental Consultancy Ltd
Sevenoaks Environmental provide cost effective and bespoke environmental site assessment services to a broad range of Clients to support development projects including new build residential housing, commercial and industrial redevelopment, local authority schemes and brownfield regeneration.
Site Investigation
With over 15 years experience, Sevenoaks Environmental Consultancy specialise in the design and execution of site investigations and the provision of associated contaminated land risk assessment and geotechnical advice. Our team is formed by a selection of dynamic and motivated professionals who are well experienced to guide you though the often complex and technical site assessment process.
Contaminated-Land
We undertake contaminated land assessments including Phase I Desk Studies (also known as Preliminary Risk Assessments), Phase II intrusive Site Investigations and design remedial solutions to resolve contaminated land issues. We provide site specific assessments to support planning applications, inform due diligence for site purchase, project feasibility and to satisfy financial or insurance institutions.
Foundation Design
SEC undertake Geotechnical assessments to provide Clients with advice in relation to foundation design, slope stability and pile design. Given our comprehensive service, geotechnical investigations can be seamlessly integrated with geo-environmental assessments resulting in a more time and cost efficient ground assessment.
Ground Remediation
Contaminated land remediation is required following the identification of ground contamination that poses a significant possibility of significant harm to receptors typically including human health, buildings and controlled waters (groundwater and surface water resources). SEC have experience of both design and implementation of remedial schemes, acting as either remedial contractor or Environmental Consultant providing consultancy support to oversee and validate remedial work undertaken by others.
Flood Risk Assessment
With the increasing pressure on land to supply new housing, the rise in intensity of climate change and following a number of major UK flooding events, risks from flooding to developments have become a common issue. This has resulted in the production of specific guidelines that outline how flood risk should be considered at all stages of the planning and development process in order to help reduce future damage to property and loss of life.
Ecological Surveys
We have extensive experience of the interface between nature conservation and development proposals. Our approach is not simply to provide mitigation for lost interest, but rather to enhance existing interest, provide new habitats and to integrate new developments with ecology where possible. This can provide not only an attractive, rich environment for the new development but also a greater range and diversity of habitat types.
Asbestos Risks
Asbestos is a naturally occurring material which became popular in the 20th century due to its resistance to heat, electricity and chemical damage, sound absorption and tensile strength. It was frequently mixed with another material and was used in over 3000 building products. Exposure to asbestos can cause serious health implications without the necessary health and safety risk management precautions in place.
Soil and Water Testing Water
Sevenoaks Environmental Consultancy provide professional chemical and geotechnical soil and water analysis services with technical expertise to interpret results and their implications in the context of a proposed development project.
BRE365 Soakage Testing
To help reduce flood risk from new developments, current environmental guidelines encourage strategies that limit surface water runoff. This includes designing sustainable drainage systems that discharge into existing sewers or soakaways wherever possible, rather than allowing rapid runoff into watercourses.
Other Surveys
Sevenoaks Environmental Consultancy provide a broad range of multi-discipline environmental and site surveys ranging from BRE365 Soakage Testing, topographic surveys to Unexploded Ordnance Surveys, Archaeological assessments and tank decommissioning.
