Fall Restraint.
Fall Restraint systems are commonly used on structures and are a favoured by designer as preferable solution over Fall Arrest, this is because fall restraint is higher on the hierarchy of controls after avoid work at height and collective measures. Fall restraint requires a lower level of competency and subsequently lower levels of training. This fall protection solution is often implemented for building maintenance tasks
Fall Arrest.
Fall Arrest systems sit between fall restraint and work positioning on the hierarchy of controls for work at height. Fall Arrest requires a higher level of understanding and competency by the users and it is imperative that suitable rescue provisions are in place. This fall protection solution is often implemented for building maintenance tasks
Work Positioning.
Work Positioning is the last control measure on the hierarchy of controls under the work at height regulations. It requires a substantial level of competency and rescue provisions can be intricate, involving multiple persons. This fall protection solution is often implemented for building maintenance tasks
Collective Protection.
Collective Protection is considered the gold standard when it comes to work at height tasks. It is the highest on the hierarchy and can require no training or rescue procedures.
